Full Time and Part Time Positions Available

Riverbend Veterinary Clinic is hiring support staff! We are seeking a veterinary technician or veterinary assistant to join our team. Our technicians are essential for the operations of our clinic.  We have a collegial approach with a sharing of duties and plenty of variety every day. The position will be based within the clinic and involve all aspects of patient care, a great deal of client interaction, and many technical tasks.

Duties may include:

• Patient admission, taking a history, reviewing health reminders, preparation of vaccines.

• Patient restraint for examination and procedures, trimming nails, drawing blood, basic grooming.

• Patient discharge, reviewing patient care at home.

• Phone reception and client communication.

• Dispensing, labeling, reviewing medications.

• Billing and processing payments.

• Lab procedures such as running the blood machines, preparing slides, performing urinalysis and fecal samples. 

• Preparation of patient and of surgery suite for surgeries, processing of surgical instruments and packs, monitoring anesthesia and patient recovery. 

• Positioning and restraint for radiographs, proper technique and use of the X-ray machine. 

• Routine cleaning and organizing of the work spaces.

Full time position includes paid vacation, holiday and sick time, health insurance, 401K with employer contribution. Flexibility in schedule is helpful and some Saturday mornings are required. 

 

The successful applicant is an open and positive thinker, enjoys working with people, seeks a fast-paced work environment with a variety of duties, and has experience working with dogs and cats. Attention to detail and basic computer skills are essential, as is a friendly demeanor, and a willingness to work with a team and to learn every day.
